What is LD?
Lincoln-Douglas (LD) debate is a one-on-one style of structured argumentation that is centered around philosophical questions. Debaters will employ values, such morality or justice, arguing for or against a resolution. Engage with three resolutions annually, discussing a clash in global politics, emerging technologies, or ethical considerations. LD is an excellent fit for students who want to build their critical thinking and researching skills, and it provides a strong foundation for those who are interested in the fields like law and political science.
Our team has leadership who have reached elimination rounds at the most prestigious tournaments of the nation, such as the Columbia Invitational and National Speech and Debate Season Opener. All of our varsity members participate actively in debate and are committed to supporting newer teammates.
