Our summer camp is specifically designed for students entering grades 6 through 9. Unfortunately, we are not able to accept students outside this grade range, as the curriculum is tailored to middle schoolers and early high schoolers.
Yes! Email us for more information at info@interlakesnd.org so we can make proper arrangements for your child!
Not at all! Our camp is designed with beginners in mind, and we welcome students of all experience levels. Our staff are committed to helping everyone grow, whether it's your child's first time trying speech and debate or they're looking to build on existing skills.
Students with a strong speech & debate interest are encoruaged to attend both weeks. They will be placed in a more advanced lab group during the second week!
Unfortunately, we cannot issue refunds. Since all payments are processed through Interlake High School, issuing a refund would require a lengthy and complicated process through the accounting office. We appreciate your understanding.
The workload is intentionally light outside of meetings; Students will primarily do their work during camp hours. Before the final tournament at the end of the week, we may assign a few small preparation tasks, but they’ll be manageable.
Our instructors are dedicated high school students with real experience and success in speech and debate. We're passionate about mentoring and making debate fun and meaningful for younger students.
No problem! We will make sure everyone has a partner during camp. We’ll ask about your student’s preferences and match people up based on compatibility or randomly if no preference is stated. This will all be handled during camp, so there's no need to worry beforehand.
