Interlake Speech & Debate is proud to offer the premier online summer experience targeted towards middle schoolers.
Hosted by the largest and most successful speech & debate program in WA, our experienced student and adult instructors, carefully-designed curriculum, and small staff to student ratio are an ideal environment for both students new to debate and those looking to move to the next level.

Speak with confidence to an audience
Persuasively develop and present a point
Write a prepared speech, perform an interpretive script, and give impromptu speeches from a prompt
Develop strong interpersonal connections
Learn and practice qualities of a good speech: argumentation, concision and clarity, persuasive elements, eye contact, posture, pace, and volume
At the end of the week, students will write or choose their own speech and present it!
Create structured arguments
Listen to opposing sides and refute arguments with poise
See both sides of an issue
Conduct research & use evidence effectively
Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of positions
Express thoughts clearly
Adapt to a variety of audiences
At the end of the week, students will debate each other in a mini-tournament against their peers!
